Exceeding Expectations

The PSP is SO much better than I had anticipated. Probably most surprising is the screen. Its clarity is PHENOMENAL. Since the unit came with the UMD version of the Spider-Man 2 film, its showcasing its ability extremely early. The demo disc is a little on the weak side, but the movies are pretty high-res and can give you a good idea of what the games would look like. The "dashboard" is also incredibly cool. Lots of access to settings to the usual stuff (time, date, nickname, etc.) and I can't WAIT to get home and set up the wireless networking stuff. In wondering why the ugly lime-green color couldn't be changed, we discovered it changes by itself on the first of each month. Don't know if that's going to be an unadjustable feature, but the Network Update option looks REALLY interesting. When I click it, it immediately tells me I need to set up the network first. WEIRD!! These pics do NOT do the system justice AT ALL! I'll take some pics with Lindsay's camera tonight. It's gorgeous, and after I copy some music to it, and some small videos, (seeing as how I now only have a 32mb stick), I feel I'll be that much more happy with the purchase. More later...

PSP Tomorrow

Well, after what seems like an eternity since its unveiling last year, tomorrow I'll own a PSP. I'll have plenty of photos up tomorrow, with a link to my TextAmerica moblog. And I'm working now on the look for the new and improved sethcheek.com. On a more of a bummer note, I'm having some outage problems with the site. I can get into it through FTP, but the name's not successfully pushing here, at least as of 6pm tonight. Hopefully everything will be back up and running for tomorrow.

The Waiting Game

My friend IceAge made me the counter I've been wanting. Here's a screengrab.

It sits on my desktop and tells me exactly how long I have to wait until Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. A little over two weeks away, but with the PSP only 8 days away, it should be able to tide me over.

Funny that the $200 system is a pacifier for the $50 game. Well, at least for now. I know I'll get plenty of use out of it in the future, especially with my much-talked-about trip to LA.

eBay Stuff, Round 1

Just put a bunch of stuff on eBay. I hope to make POSSIBLY $150 or so with all of this, but whatever I get will be nice. Anything will help for my super expensive trip to E3 this summer. I need to figure out just exactly what I need to take with me to maximize the trip out there, including cameras, video cam, connectivity, etc. I'd also like to tour G4 while I'm there. It'd be neat to see the inner workings of that place. Anyway, if you'd like to see what I've got available, click here. Otherwise, don't. See if I care.

SC:CT OST on iTunes

I bought the Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory soundtrack from iTunes last night. A guy named Amon Tobin scored the game. He's kind of a techno guy, so a lot of people were skeptical whether it would sound right and fit into a game with a kind of non-melodious score, but I kind of like it. It seems to add to the tension, or at least it did in the demo.

If you want to hear samples from iTunes, click here.

Star Wars III Trailer

I liked it. It just seems like there's SO much to cover in this movie, that it would be hard to screw it up. If you'd like to see it, here's a link to the Quicktime. Enjoy!

mo:Blog isn't bad

I used mo:Blog 1.6 to post the previous message to the site. Not bad. It didn't work with the Title correctly, but other than that, it was smooth and easy. I may have to buy that before I take off. I need a countdown to E3 up here, I think. I'm going to ask IceAge for that.
Test from my Treo
Here's an entry from my Treo. This might be just what I need for mobile posting. More, later, when I find out how well/poor this does...

'Hello' Sucks

Sharing pics straight from the web with Hello doesn't work right. I suppose it would be alright if I wanted to show an entire webpage, but just for an individual pic, I'd still have to download it, then upload it with Hello. Not a good method, in my opinion. I'm on the hunt now for the best, smoothest blog tools. Hello is alright for already done pics, but not for direct sending to the blog.

This is a random pic, just for me to test the "Hello" plugin for IE that lets me send a photo straight from the net to my blog.  Posted by Hello

Setting Up HDMI is HARD

I'm still messing with all the settings on this Media Center/HDTV thing. It's insane to get it to work, but I think I've almost got it. The problem is I may need to download Powerstrip to do it, and I HATE that I need some stupid third party thing to change a resolution that Windows and I BOTH know should work anyway. Stupid configurating...

Okay, figured out the title thing

It isn't the link thing, it's a separate field you can enter, but you have to have it turned on in the settings. I feel a little bit better about it, now that I can look at the posts by title, instead of fragmented sentences, along the sidebar. Not that anyone but me cares, but it's done. If you don't care about the mundane things of my life, why the crap are you reading this?!?
I'm not sure exactly how the link field works. If it's just in place of a title, then I like it. If it's not, I won't. Tonight I plan on creating a custom theme for my new blog, so I can have a rocking site to have E3 updates. The test commences... NOW

Here's the new cable I bought for my HDTV to hook to my Media Center PC. Can't wait to get home and mess with it!! Posted by Hello

Tonight, I begin my martial arts classes. My plan is to trick myself into working out, by imagining that I'm becoming the next Bruce Lee/Jackie Chan. NOT, I repeat, NOT Steven Seagal. Don't know whether it will work or not, but I want to try. Still counting the days till my trip to Los Angeles. It's going to be a fun summer!!

My new photo blog is up and running. I'm not sure if this is the way to do it, though, separating my pointless thoughts from my pointless pictures. Check it out:
